Creating and Uploading Your Video to Oprah.com

It's easiest to create a video if you have a webcam connected directly to your computer. Using a webcam, there are two ways to create a video:
  1. Upload file: Use the software that came with your webcam, create a video and upload the file.
  2. Record Video: Record Video will allow you to record your video inline directly from the upload form page. When you click Record Video, two small video players will appear on the form. One player will show you the live recording; the second will show you what you have recorded.

What kind of video files can be uploaded?

We accept all common media formats. The accepted file formats are:
.flv, .wmv, .asf, .avi, .mov, .3gp, .mpg, .mpeg, or .mp4

Am I limited to the number of videos I can upload?

There are no limits on the number of videos you can upload.

What are tags? And why do I need them on my video?

Tags are a way for you to flag your video with keywords. The keywords will create what is called a tag cloud, which can be found at the bottom right corner of the page. The tag cloud is used as a navigation filter to display videos with other similarly tagged videos.

You can allow other users to tag your videos with their own keywords. During the upload process of your video, there is an option to do so that you can check or uncheck.
